A piece I did in the style of the Ukiyo-e woodblock prints, which is something I've wanted to do for a while, and because of the theme for FCN, I had the chance to do it
. A kitsune geisha in a kimono and a natural setting seemed like a good choice. The writing in the upper right says Ukiyo-e no Otome, or Maiden of the Floating World. (although more literally maiden of the pictures of the floating world, as Ukiyo-e is the word used to describe the art style of the time)
Originally done for the FCN conbook, but I guess it didn't make it into the book.
Done with micron inks, and acrylic paints on 8"x10.5" illustration board.
