After all the time I spent creating this piece, I suddenly don't know what to say about it. ^.^.. I'm amazed that I completed it. This is the most complex commission I've ever done - 48 characters, 18"x40" on illustration board with microns, acrylics, markers, colored pencils and watercolors. Approx. 120 hours of work.

The story behind the piece: The Chakats, family, and friends are having a great big party to celebrate the move from Earth to their new home on the planet Chakona. Characters are copyright Bernard Doove, and are part of his stories at the Chakat's Den website.

This piece will be traveling to Anthrocon to be displayed in the Anthrocon Art show. It is not for sale as it is a commission, but it will be there to be seen =). And I'm not sure how I'll be doing prints yet, but prints should be available for Anthrocon as well.

OMG this is amazing. God I saw the line art for this and now seeing it colored.. Seeing the status of this drawing from how long it took you.. to how big it is.. and that fact that is is ALL traditional work. You are one amazing and patient artist. Simply beautiful and breathtaking.

Very beautiful and detailed scene. It has a very family oriented feel to it to be sure! Plus I like the setting of it all. ^_^
