I changed a burnt out bulb this vary afternoon. :-) Although not a spot lamp. Just giving my chakat category in favs, some new entries.

Got to separate the 'taurs from the chakats.

Weird why would she need those steps... she could easily just stand on the hind legs for the task, saving herself a trouble of bringing the steps with.

Wouldn't you agree?

Ditto!   I always thought of that as a particular asset to a taur.  Add in a little balance from the tail, and you've got an 11 foot reach easily.

What I do not understand is why the society they live in allows them to be nude. Shirts are the least vital of clothing when it comes to not offending people and keeping CLEAN and SAFE.

well now that I have CTRL + Enter = send'd AND accidentally erased... *sigh*

Anyway, no way would the way Chakats dress be permissible to ANY dress code.

First off, the lack of soft clothing. While I understand a nude Chakat walking down the street or going to the park, there is little reason to think that any organization would break shirt + pants + shoes policy for them. Bare genitals is not sanitary, and while dogs are TOLERATED in establishments (again, tolerated), a human (yes, furries are humans in my eyes. Humanity is not a species, but a mental and/or spiritual state of being) would certainly be required to cover up. Especially in food-related occupations, in which case the fur would be a problem too.

Second, SHOES. For both health AND injury-related reasons, bare feet are against most if not all "first-world" nations' businesses. Barefoot Starfleet officer? I wonder if, in the world that Bernard Doove (Goldfur) created, Homosapien Starfleet officers are allowed to run around barefoot.

Bare genitals are no-no for you because you were taught so.
If you would live in an advanced civilization where ALL the people walk naked you would not have this issue.

About the shoes tho... Does dogs and cats need shoes to be healthy? If they would, they'd go extinct long time ago. YOU need shoes because your feet aren't accustomed to walk on a rough terrain. Few weeks bare-feet and you'd be back to what nature made you, walking over broken glass and rocky paths.
To be frank, first shoes weren't for injury protection but for warmth. In Africa people still walk barefoot yet no one is making a fuss about it.
